so, SO cold!

OMG! It is so, SO cold here today. We have had snow to 400m, which is quite low and we can see it on the mountains. Together with the cold southerly wind (from Antarctica, which is right below us) has made for a bitterly cold day.

So, I am doing a quick post (because my office is cold), having my cup of coffee… Source
…warming my backside by the fire and making some orders up next to it…

Source
…having a hot bath…

..then I will be taking my sore throat off to bed under 2 feather quilts! I think I will leave the electric blanket on tonight!!. I hope where ever you are you are warm.
Ness xx
PS – I will be making some more of the Hotel Royale cushion covers, for all that have emailed, as soon as I get more fabric tomorrow. I have sold out for the moment…thanks xx

  • Hi Ness,
I have been following your blog for the last 2 months or so and ‘tune’ in every day!!! Your photo’s today are lovely – I especially love the lounge room as I am ‘dotty’ about the colour white and especially love white lounge suites and hope one day to own a white slip-covered one!!! I also love your M&L screen-printed cushion that was featured recently. Keep up the great work as I think you have one of the best sites!!
    Take care and keep warm

  • Thats crazy! Where do you live? I live in Sweden at the moment and have been waiting for winter, but it teased us last week with 1 nice week and now it is raining again. I need some sun! Lovely photos of yours. Hmmm, very soothing.

  • Oh, I’m so sorry! I feel a little guilty that it’s finally summer here and you have to deal with winter…of course that’s the way it goes, obviously, but I still feel bad. I HATE winter so I feel your pain.

Get cozy and warm and take care of that sore throat.

  • Darling Ness,
It is so funny to read this when we are just heading into summer. And yet it makes me feel all cozy – you have a way with words and the photos you find…
Stay warm my friend ~ although you could always visit us here for a bit of a warm-up…

  • You’ll think me crazy, but I rather envy you such a day. Here I sit, by an open window, hot hot air hovering over the garden, and the eerie stillness of an approaching thunderstorm causing Edward to look at me with a pensive stare. Winter sounds rather nice just now!

I do hope your sore throat feels better!

  • This is definietly a bowl of soup (Harvest Veggies soup), crusty bread & hot chocolate day.
Ironic that here in Arizona it was 94 & I did the hot chocolate…but because I had fresh marshmellows made at my to die for local ice cream shop!!!
Yes definitely find some handmade marshmellows & pour some creamy, dreamy hot chocolate over.
Cuddle up & stay warm with your hubby.

  • Thank you, Ness for your Birthday wishes both here and in you very very touching (causing me to become a sobbing heap) e-mail.
I’m thrilled to be even the slightest bit responsible for you pursuing your dreams. Yes, a mom can still be a great mom while having other passions.

I just finished reading Vicki’s French Essence. Vicki’s post is about confidence and how we can help other women gain more confidence in themselves. You certainly have helped me over this past year, and I hope that I have done the same.
    Love,
    Your #1 fan!

BTW: Hope it gets warmer soon! Stay cozy xob

  • Hi Ness, I’m loving your blog, beautiful pictures – and your home is gorgeous! Where do you find those sweet sugar hearts? Coming from Perth, I’m visiting Sydney and Canberra in a couple of weeks for a talk on photography and hope to experience some of that cold snap. Since growing up in the snow – I miss it terribly!

No that isn’t my house, although it would be on top of my list for a weekend getaway house. You can see some photos of our home if you go down the side bar at right and click on “Our Home”.
