Well Travelled Storage

home beautiful
Suitcases are just the most versatile pieces, besides the obvious, that anyone can have. I have always loved vintage suitcases to have anything from blankets, magazines, craft paraphernalia and the like to tuck away into. Stacked on top of one another they just look amazing and make wonderfully whimsical side tables in a bedroom.

For a modern approach or just for a splash of colour, these red cases are just the thing. I could imagine these in a child’s room for cars (in our case) or for Barbie’s shoes and outfits.

These ones paired next to this gorgeous Armoire look like they are meant to be. I am still trying to get my old ones finished, but maybe I will be as old as these when they are done!!
I hope you all have a wonderful weekend, Ness xx

  • Oh I love those old hard covered suitcases. So much nicer than the roller things everyone has these days. And we use the little ones for storing my children’s toys too. Very good for stacking! Jane – /mypeartreehouse.blogspot.com/

  • Those are sp pretty! I really like the older & more solid cases from the past, makes you wonder how many journeys they have been on?

  • Yes, you are right here Ness. I somehow feel that in another 50 years, our plastic hardshells won’t be quite so sort after as these cuties.

  • I’m not sure why, but I have a thing for vintage luggage as well. Steve and I can’t seem to pass by a leather suit case that has a great aged patina without bringing it home.
So glad to see we’re not alone.

  • Hailey has a stack in her room. One for ponies, one for dolls & clothes & then a lazy one…thats where she quickly throws things she wants to hide qickly when her room needs to be tidied.
They’re all pastels from the 50s but we wrapped grosgrain around the handles to girly girl them a bit.
    Love to Declan & company.
