Wreath Love…

country living
What is it about a wreath?
I just love them, and not just at Christmas time either. I am happy to have wreaths around anytime of year…but at Christmas time the take on something special don’t you think?
Hanging them in a window just says ‘It’s Christmas’ to me.
I have always wanted to have wreaths in every window of the house but last year ran out of time as I was too busy, the year before our decorating was very sparse as we were painting inside and out. So this year I was determined to get something in our windows.
unknown
Love them from mirrors and this little window which I think I spotted in Country Living.

So here you can see I managed to get some on our living room French doors and I couldn’t be happier with how they look here.

This little sweetie is hanging from the hallway French doors. There is another one opposite.

Now, I know this is not technically a wreath, but I love this bunch of fresh pine hanging in our Kitchen on the mirror my Dad made.
I even managed to get some of these bunches of pine in the French doors in our bedroom, the boys bedrooms and our guest room windows.
They smell amazing when the warm Summer sun shines on them in the morning. I have noticed I will have to make new bunches before the day though. They are starting to loose their fresh look with the hot Australian sun blazing on them each day.
oh well. I am determined to have those wreaths in the windows.

PS-thanks to those who had a go at guessing what the item was in the last post. I will be showing you all in the new year what it is when I launch the new range =0)
…some of you are on the right track-others WAY off, but it is very funny reading what you have guessed.

  • Hi Ness,

I don’t know what it is about wreaths too. I’m just as in love with them as you!!! Last year I ran out of time, but I still have time this year, so we shall see….I would really love to hang a couple in the office, as there are no blinds, just roman blinds and I think they will look stunning.

My computer has been playing up and I have just caught up on Saturday’s post….I thought it was a big smiley face, the bird was the big cheesy grin, yes I know I think I’m the one that is way off. In the New Year, are you kidding, that is WAY OFF. You’re not going to make us wait that long Ness, are you???

Well, I’m going now, I have done some more re-arranging on the christmas decoration front (am happier now, with how it’s looking!!) and am going to light my candles, that don’t drip, don’t smoke yadda yadda and hope it looks magazine worthy when they are lit lol!!!!

    Have a great day tomorrow.
    Take care

  • Wreaths are one of my favorite decotations. I hang them on the outside of my house as well as the inside. Love the greens on your mirror. The perfect holiday touch.

  • I just said that in a post! But how do you store them? They make such good fakes now it’s easy to collect too many.
    Yours are beautiful!

  • I would have to agree with you regarding the wreath and the welcoming it shows.
    I have a wreath I got from http://www.pemberleycollections.com/
It is fabulous. I had put it away for the season and when we brought it out for the Christmas season it was just as beautiful.

  • So pretty, Ness!
I am wreathless this year, with the exception of a beautiful burlap one I received as a gift.

I miss having live greenery around the house, but what with the moving going on, it would be sadly neglected.

    Have a wonderful week!
    XOXO,

  • Dear Ness,

If the wreaths are dry, you can do something very simple: you can spray them with paint. And keep it fresh for longer and green, you spray them now vigorously with hair spray. So they are still green at Christmas.

They look sooooo noble and elegant!

  • I’m with you Ness, I love a wreath and also not just for christmas time. Yours look beautiful hanging on your doors and I love your idea about the pine hanging from the mirror. It would be lovely to have that pine smell in the house especially if you haven’t got a real christmas tree up like me. Thanks for some great inspiration!!

  • whew!…and I thought I was the only ‘wreath freak’. It’s so reassuring to know that there are others out there that share the same fondness for these circular phenomenon. Love your photos of your creative decorating. Thanks for sharing.
