  • as for preparing for the season ahead, we are supposed to have winter now, but it’s a dry warm winter, which is bad, cause we need the rain, as soon our dry season will begin, no rain from april till october. If it doesn’t rain soon, we”ll have a shortage of drinking water in summer and prices of veggies and fruits will rise bigtime, cause crops fail.

I wish you a wonderful Autumn and thank you for your beautiful give away!

  • Two days of cooler weather here have got me already looking forward to autumn and I washed all my old cushion and sofa covers today to freshen them up after the long steamy summer. I will change my bedding sometime next month from cool pastels and whites to beiges, creams and warmer pinks. I loooove the printed beige and white cushion as it would suit my colour scheme all year round. I am a ‘like’ (‘love’)on Facebook so that I never miss out on your great blog. I am also looking forward to autumn so that I can do some gardening in comfort.

  • Hi – I have an antique storage trunk where I keep my winter woollies. I enjoy sorting scarves, jumpers and cardigans to work out my wardrobe for the season. Some remain in the trunk – memories or simply not this seasons fashion. Others go to the op. shop and some make it to my wardrobe. I then delight in working out just where the gaps are and what I ‘need’ to buy. It always feels so satisfying to be organised for the season. Olivia

Just what I needed after seeing the images and hearing the plight of the poor people in Christchurch after the earthquake. Sometimes you really need to feed the soul at a time like this. Autumn is a time for reflecting and planting the promise of spring. For open fires, brisk walks and crunching through fallen leaves.
