A $25 Find Gets A Makeover….

DSCN4190

Remember a while ago I bought a sideboard that I was going to show what I done with it? Yeah, it was a while ago!

Apart from the days melting into each other at the moment, it seems the weeks/months are too and time has got away…anyway, I am finally going to show you what I done with the old sideboard I picked up for the Marley & Lockyer studio. It wasn’t a major purchase…just $25.00.

It has become the best piece to photograph on!sideboard5

It started life like this…pretty enough, but you know me…I had to paint it white. I stewed over this for hours. Once I had a good look at it, it needed to be white….so I told myself.

It had some little nicks and pieces of veneer missing, so that was my whole argument into going white.

Undercoating was a breeze and it seemed to take minutes…but was more like an hour

even the handles were given the white treatment

and as you can see, it is the perfect match for my beadboard wall…it was also the perfect fit!

Really am loving the glass doors and it reminds me of a Pharmacists Apothercary cabinet…all it needs is some white advertisements on the glass. I can now see some of my favourite vintage and new linens at a glance.

I am extremely happy with how it turned out and all for $25.00!

…a bargain, don’t you think?

  • OMG Ness, yes what a bargain!

It’s amazing how the white paint brings out the details on the front of the drawers. I think it really finishes it off. I also love what you have on top of the sideboard. Can’t have too many candles and I especially love the BIG mannequinn bust. Did you happen to find that local? (If you don’t mind me asking).

I hope you’re having a great week, it’s flying by too fast. If you have sunshine today I hope you enjoy, off to work!

    Take care

    • Nothing like a quick coat of white to spruce things up. The bust came from a friend who had it for her own products but thought it would suit my range better….she is a sweetheart.
Have a great day at work
