Super Fueled & Relaxing Weekend…

weekend3

I really love relaxing weekends…this weekend was one of them. No Marley & Lockyer deadlines to think of well, there is, I just didn’t think of them and a few days to just rest and potter about, re-arranging pieces, catching up on the house ‘stuff’ and baking…and rest my injured shoulder.

Saturday morning was a super early start and a rare event for Mic and I…a day out just the two of us. We got the boys ready for their Grandparents and off we went….

to the V8 Supercars. I’m never going to be into cars, I don’t mind it now and then, but I would rather fossick through a market, op shop or home wares store. Having said that, I had a great day with Mic watching the different types of cars at top speed and being in the corporate box being waited on all day helped a lot

We were right over the pits in the corporate area and it was great to see this side of it all. This car’s graphics were my favourite. I may have said it was ‘pretty’. Mic assures me V8 cars are not pretty…well, it is.

We also got to see Mack from the movie Cars and had to take some photos for the boys. We seen some bad crashes and experienced all four seasons in one day true Tassie style, ate too much food and had a wonderful day.

Finally we got some decent rain over night which was great as we recently planted some new trees.

I also replenished some grasses for my stoneware pots. My car has a pair of secateurs in the glove box for impromptu roadside greenery finds. Please tell me you do this too?

  • My man was complaining all weekend that we didn’t go see the car racing. I don’t mind it actually.
Secateurs in the glovebox? What haven’t I done this? I bought a new pair on the weekend so maybe I can put the old ones in the car?
    Have a great week xx

    • You should have gone. It was a great day.
You must get some secateurs in your glove box. I must say, my best arrangements come from the side of the road!!
Hope you have a lovely week too Sarah.

  • Hi Ness,

We saw a lot of the people that had been at the V8 racing at the airport late yesterday afternoon. Nothing like being in the VIP section, eat drink whenever you like!! What have you done to your shoulder?? Too much punching boxing bags. Love the fabric of the floral black and white cushion. I don’t have secataurs in the glovebox but I usually go out to the garden and clip some conifers….sigh…I wish flowers weren’t so expensive. I remember you making the roll up blind with the lovely handstitching, still looks really good. I had a change around last weekend. Change is as good as a holiday, so they say. Rambling here and random comments. Speaking of comments I have somehow managed to subscribe to your blog…wicked. I have tried before but couldn’t see where to, so it was a nice surprise to see you in my email box. I am so not a tech head.

    Have a great day today.

    Take care

    • Hi Janine
It was lovely to be up there in with the VIP’s. I have strained the muscle…nothing a bit of rest will fix 🙂
Flowers are super expensive, thats why living in the country is great…so many amazing gardens about that seed on the sides of the roads, which equal beautiful freebies for our vases!

We are doing the change thing…when aren’t I?…but this time painting the walls is involved. Yay!
You would have noticed the addition to your blog list as there was something wrong with my RSS feed, but the crafty Katrina sorted it out for me. Glad you can see it now.

      Hope your day is wonderful.

  • Hi Ness,

Being nosey Jane here, have you picked a colour yet?? I wish it was as easy as lining up all the inspiration pictures, closing your eyes and just pointing to one. Won’t tell you how long and how many sample pots I went through trying to pick a colour for some of our walls….Robert ended up picking the right colour (totally different from the sample pots) in about a minute flat. Didn’t do much for my interior ego!!!! lol

    • A very light warm grey and white. I will be posting about it all soon. I’ve picked up some great French pieces for it. Can’t wait!

  • You are a real trooper for going to the car deal. I think you deserve a big gift for going.
