The Most Rain….

Yep, we are still going with ‘project outside’. We had a crazy storm last night…apparently it was “the most rain in 10 years”. Now, we get a lot of rain in Tasmania, so that is saying something. I did for a second think we were going to get washed away!

Today our “Old Lady”, got herself a remodeled, wooden back door that Mic made and I started digging out the copious amount of garden beds that will go in our back yard area around the remodeled deck and fire pit area. Lot’s of work still to do, but we are getting there.

So, this morning was another slow start, which I am still loving. Once the boys are back at school, the crazy year ahead will start…so I am soaking up every relaxing minute of it.

I’m still purging and cleaning…and purging some more. It is so satisfying to do this. I’m not big on clutter, never have been. So when the shelves and cupboards are all sorted and everything has it’s place, I am a happy lass…maybe I have ocd, who knows?!

There has been some fabric selecting going on too. This herringbone has totally stolen my heart…I’m a herringbone fan. There is never a lot of time to sit a sew these days and I plan to recover my ticking chaise with something like this.

There has been a lot of cooking going on and I have come up with a very nice, gluten/dairy/egg free self saucing chocolate mug cake, which I will share very soon. 4 minutes in the microwave and you are done! The above was from a berry bun cake.

I managed to capture a moment of the crazy afternoon storm. As you can see by the peek of blue sky, it was short lived, but far out it poured! The rain always makes our Jasmine vines smell so strong. It is wonderful.

Hopefully the rain will stay away for a little while tomorrow so ‘project outside’ can carry on too.

  • I love jasmine – I’ve always wanted to have some and now I do! The woman who used to own my house planted a bush in the backyard and it’s beginning to grow more, which is lovely. Such a wonderful fragrance.

    • It screams summer for me, Naomi. I planted it to grow up two cross shaped wires on that fence…but apparently this Jasmine is not the one for that. SO, I just let it go for gold and do it’s own thing 🙂

I have been looking at grey fabrics to recover an old lounge and love the the selection you have photographed in this post. Do you know the details of any of the fabrics or where they can be sourced from? I am looking forward to reading more of your blog and will now be whiling away the hours soaking up all the gorgeousness in your past posts,

    • Hi Annie,
You are gorgeous. Thank you. Those fabrics were from a little store here in Launceston called Ruche fabrics, which has now closed down. There is nothing to reference what design house they are from either, I am sorry.
Hope you enjoy the rest of the blog and have a great weekend.
