This weekend we foraged, shopped, ate and spent time in the garden.
It was lovely.
We all piled into the car and headed out, with no real plan…the best way I think…and ended up at this salvage yard in Westbury.
I didn’t buy anything. It has been a long time since I was here. Most of the beautiful old pieces are beyond saving. Blackberry vines have covered the rain wasted wood pieces. These old metal bed frames could be saved with some sandblasting, but, I had no need for them.
…but I do have a plan for some soon…
After a brief stop at Deloraine and The Black Hen, it was off to Launceston for some shopping and a stroll through City Park. I love this place. So many little garden rooms, full of stunning plant combinations and a wonderful ambiance. We sat on a little bench and took in loads of inspiration for our own ‘Project Outside’, which is well and truly in full swing.
We are still in slow mode here as our boys don’t go back to school until Wednesday…even our pup is in slow mode!
I’m really looking forward to getting back into the studio full time again on Wednesday. For me, I don’t feel complete if I am not able to create. So, the holidays, as enjoyable as they are, are hard for me creatively and I have to use the time differently for it to work. These holidays I have made up lots of designs for products for 2015, as well as redesigned my design market stall.
So, after a great holiday rest, my hands are itching to go!
