Sitting in the studio the other day, while I was washing the clay dust from the tables and floors…a weekly event…I felt that the new range needed an un-fussy approach to the photography and styling. You know, so the pieces can speak for themselves?
I thought the white floor and walls in the studio would be perfect for this. Right under two windows for natural light, some wood for warmth and of course linen with a soft grey blue stripe was all that was needed. I think it worked well!
The new range is something I have been working on since October 2014. Some of the cups and smaller piece came to the December markets I attended and were received well, so they made it to the range. I still, as always, wanted to keep the handmade, organic feel of my work. I love this. The idea that no two are replicas of the last is very important to me and that is why I am still adding each design by piece to every one.
These little spoons have been made to match the little salt dishes, but I love them for anything.
These are the cups that some of you picked up at markets near the end of last year. Inspired by my favourite cafes cups and made to look like an old version of such cups. As though they were made before mass produced cups. I have been using one of the test pieces I originally made as my own cup in the studio and everyday it makes me smile. Simple and beautiful.
Now, this one I adore!
For the longest time I have had a ‘thing’ for anything Herringbone, especially in linen grey…so it was added to these ‘Herringbone Seed’ bowls. I kept everything crossed they would make it out of the kiln unscathed – and it worked!
…excuse my hand…
This is the pattern on the outside.
This hand drawn pear branch is a new favourite for me too. I was not sure about it at first, but once I opened that kiln, was so happy with them. A few didn’t even make it to the store as they were snapped up straight away! I have some more in the kiln.
The ‘Seed’ Collection.
Simple, white and blue. What more do you need, right? I’m playing around with a large plate to go with this collection too.
I think this year for me, it is going to be all about simplifying everything. The need to create freely is very strong right now and my new sketch book for this year is already half full….
A simply beautiful year ahead I am hoping for xx

Ness, I was thinking about you the other day when I saw some tiny white clay flour ‘scoops” in a shop and was wondering if you were going to do spoons or even little scoops this year..
The collection is gorgeous, as usual!
P.S…I’ll need to get another little ceramic star from you this year too – I hope you’ll be doing the ones with names again – as our family’s got a new member due to arrive soon…
xx
I will have a big selection of serving pieces this year, so stay tuned for that. Christmas stars will be hitting the store in August this year due to demand.
Thanks for stopping by xx
Stunning! I’d be hard pressed to pick just one favourite out of these! x
Thanks Naomi…I want to have them all!
Enjoy your weekend, sweet.
