Slow Summer Days, Painting and Weeds…

Just before Christmas, I started repainting our kitchen/living/dining room, which is a massive job with 12 foot ceilings that have to be hand painted and of course, the very tall walls. We had stuff everywhere just a few days before our family came for Christmas, but I got it finished.

These little weedy flowers were a gift at breakfast from our 9 year old to make me smile…I must have looked a knackered mess 😉

At first, I was unsure, but once I started bringing things into the room again, I knew it was right. It is such a calm colour.

It goes so well with my collections…and our temporary summer hat pile. Those hooks will go up when the hallway is finished. So for now, it’s all summer casual here.

I finally got to hang my gift to myself up too. This gorgeous print called “The Lone Mustang” is stunning. Everyone comments on it and even better, Mic loves it too….winning.

This sideboard will be going out of this room to make way for another one I have to replace it, which is white with glass doors.

…and I’m seriously thinking of taking this cupboard out too…or paining it white…or charcoal. It’s a hard decision, because I love it so much.  The replacement would be the white hutch that was once in here, but is now in the studio. We are also getting rid of a lot of our things and will be having a garage sale very, very soon. I need room for new pieces you see!

So, not a lot going on here other than this. I’m fully enjoying my down time. Lot’s of swimming and gardening.

I’m certainly pining for some of those slow summer days right about now… as it’s blowing and snowing right outside my window… 🙁
