To say I’m excited right now would be an understatement!
The first dates for the Marley & Lockyer workshops in my studio have been released. I’ve been working to get the studio painted and prettied up for these over the last few weeks and it’s looking so much better with a fresh coat of paint.
The inside has had a lovely fresh coat of white paint and the outside is a lovely dark, inky blue. We still have some parts to finish off outside, like the front garden and door, but we are pushing to have it all done by the first workshop Saturday on the calander.
Its so nice to finally have spaces that aren’t a dirty yellow and mission brown (yep, they were the colours in here when we moved in), to display all my lovely treasures on.
The first of the workshops is The Art Of Chalkboard Writing, which is being held Saturday 8th April, 2017.
It is a class I have always loved teaching, and for the new studio I’ve changed up this class to show you some added tips and tricks I use in my pieces. It’s a great way to learn this art, as there is no need to have any calligraphy or Chalkboard experience. I will walk you through developing your own style, using what comes naturally to you.
There will also be Floral Flatlays. I love this. You will get to play with ceramic leaves and flowers as well as real foliage and other decorative items and backgrounds so you can build your own body of work to use on Instagram, Facebook, your blog, or wherever. Each participant will get to take home a little kit with your own set of ceramic leaves, so you can go on and make your own flatlays at home.
Im forever playing about with these leaves and my ceramic flowers.
And, after many, many requests, I’m offering a Handbuilding Workshop.
This is not so much about the technical side of ceramics, but more about having a go at the basic forms of hand building. You’ll get to use many techniques to make your own pieces, as well as decorative methods to achieve your own functional wares.
Im so excited to be able to finally offer these workshops in my studio.
The studio is based in Gravelly Beach, in the beautiful Tamar Valley, at our farm. Each workshop includes all materials and a wonderful local lunch.

More dates will be released very soon
I really hope to see you there, so I can share my philosophy of slow living and living beautifully with you, and share my creative space with you.
