Inspired…

I hope you all had a lovely weekend. We had a quiet one as the weather was terrible. I did do some tweaking and fiddling though. I thought I would show the Home I talked about in the last post which was the inspiration from Millie at ‘the laurel hedge’ This is the same era as our own Home, although the outside is much lovelier as we haven’t even started on the front garden and we desperately need to paint. The interior is uncannily like our own with the same chair rails, picture rails and even the same ceilings in some rooms! This is the type of scheme I am totally into and maybe this is the sort of thing we will do once the boys are a bit older. I was going to show you some pics of our place, but I am having trouble uploading them. I will have to try again. In the mean time enjoy this delicious House from NZ House and Garden.
Hope you all had a fantastic weekend…Ness xx

Have a nice weekend

I found this lovely photo at the beautiful blog {this is glamorous} How lovely it would be to frock up and go somewhere beautiful with your loved one. If she were here in Tassie at the moment she would have loads of thermals on and a hot water supply feeding into her dress to fend off frost bite!

Millie over at The Laurel Hedge has inspired me from one of her recent posts, to do some fiddling around with our Home this weekend. If all goes well I will show you some photos on Monday. Take Care, Ness xx

My love of White

I am still so in love with white. Even after all the funky designs and fabrics I have come across on my search for the perfect things to fill our store, I just always come back to the comfort of white. I think that it is a refuge from all the colour I am surrounded by through my work, a time-out from in all. When I am in a white room I can totally shut off and think of new inspiring creations.

Although this room is yellow, the white buffet and hutch tones it all down…and how can you argue with it when it is from THE MOVIE

I love the casual style of this starting to rust bucket and the showy Hydrangeas. I love these flowers (esp in white) and have them along our picket fence at the front of the house. A mixture of white, pink and blue. They seem to turn whatever colour they feel like!

This room is totally me. Somewhere to recharge after a day of Mummy duties and the shop. A big window to watch the world go by and not to think. I would love a chaise. Linen slipcovers would be my fabric of choice with a big feather cushion/pillow and a vintage white linen neckroll.

I love these French doors with a view to the garden. One day!
The duck egg blue dinner service goes so well with all of the white. Sarah at her best. See the panelling on the counter to the left? That is what I want on the shop counter.

Hope everyone is well and thanks to all the lovely emails and comments. Ness xx

Some Finds For The Shop

I am on the hunt for great things for our shop and have stumbled across these Etsy lovelies.

Trove Designs beautiful resin jewelry (Mic has warned me not to keep them all)…
I love these little zip pouches, from Denise at My Studio they are delightful.
and last but not least, these delightful hand screen printed cushions from Kalla. I have 2 reserved (this one and another colour) I don’t know how I am going to part with these babies!

Change of Heart…

I was going to post about the Hampton’s today, but I have found some lovely blogs who are new readers at M&L. This first pic is from Camilla at Home. I am wondering if it is her Home because the pics she has of her house look like bits of this stunning home.
This pic is from katrinachambers.blogspot.com, who is a fellow Aussie with boys. We share the near exact tastes which is a bit uncanny. By the way Katrina, that mantel over the bed you can get in good salvage yards. I see them here in Tassie all the time.
This was my original post pics of a house in Long Island that is currently for sale for US$99,000,000
They should have turned on some lights to better show the features, but you can tell it is beautiful even in the shadows
What a gorgeous room, I can see a somethings gotta give makeover here!
