A night away at Wahroonga On Bourke

Over the weekend, Mic and I had a night away. Might not sound very exciting, but, we have not had a night away on our own since before our boys were born, and our eldest is 17!

The beautiful air bnb, Wahroonga On Bourke, was the perfect place for it. Nestled in an old quarry in beautiful Launceston, we had a view of the city from the stunning old bay windows that owners Anthony and Leeroy have lovingly restored along with the rest of the circa 1901 property. It’s a house I have long admired, so was not only very excited to be staying here, but also to see that Anthony and Leeroy are pouring so much love and attention into this stunning home.

These beautiful double glazed windows were the perfect spot to sit with a book. Something I haven’t done in ages. It was really lovely to just stop, and relax.

We arrived to a lovely welcome box with a bottle of Forty Spotted Gin, and tonic, a fresh loaf of bread, and real cream on top milk. To go with the beautiful assortment of The Tea Collection teas and Provenance Coffee beans.

Everything has been thought of with all of the finest details. Since staying here, I’ve gone off to buy the coffee beans, and grinder for our French Press at home it was so good!

The bathroom is gorgeous! Heated floors throughout the space, even in the rainfall shower area meant no cold feet at anytime. Aesop skincare products at the double hand basins, shower and toilet were such a lovely surprise too….and that botanic display looked so good!

Marble countertops through the bathroom and kitchenette are look so good with the dark tiles and walls, and crisp white accents.

Wahroonga On Bourke is also fitted with a pellet fire. I’ve always wanted one of those, and really wanted to try it out, but it was quite warm during our stay. Next time.

We had planned to go for a walk into the city after we arrived, but it was so nice just relaxing for a change, that we stayed and caught up on a Netflix series we’ve been watching before we headed out for dinner.

We woke to another beautiful day, so it was a slow morning coffee in bed, then off to the markets, but I could have stayed here a lot longer!

Mic and I had such a nice time staying here at Wahroonga On Bourke, and I would definitely recommend it if you’re ever coming to Launceston, or just need a relaxing night away like we did.

Thank you to Anthony and Leeroy for being amazing hosts too!
