misplacement

Hi all,

I was going to put a photo of the Parisian signs that I have been working on, but I can’t for the life of me remember where I put my Camera. I will post it asap, sorry. I thought I would put some of my decorating in instead. This is our fireplace in the Kitchen that I was talking about a few posts ago. I have changed the flower arrangement to a tall handled jug that is made out of pressed ceiling tin which has white Peonies and Tortured Willow branches. I change things around constantly you will find.

This gorgeous side board is the next thing I am after. It is from a shop in Launceston, Tasmania called “The Vintage Rose”. They sell all things Provincial and I just love the feel in the shop. I would like this as a permanent shop fitting??? we will see.

Take care xx

Tricia Foley

Here is one of Tricia Foleys rooms. It is actually at her home in Long Island. I just love the way she has used comfortable and practical slip covers on the lounge and chair and kept the calming tones of Taupe, Wheat etc along side the fresh greens and whites of the Hydrangeas (I wish mine went that colour instead of pink, blue or purple). She has used the natural colour in the fire surround which works so well with the white fireplace.
I also love the groupings of art about the Mantel (see the collar, love that). Her Home is devine. I just cant ever see that look dating, ever.
I have just used that look in our Matser Bedroom around the fireplace, and also in the Kitchen. We have a late 1800’s home with a huge mantel in the kitchen an a lovely old one in the Master room which we have just restored. We used Stone paint in ‘Jodphur’ against ‘Chalk USA’ by Dulux for the surrounds. It makes the white so clean and stone colour look so fresh. I will show you some more next blog. xx

My Work – “The Screamer”

I thought I would put on one of my drawings so you can see a bit of the style that I like to work with. I have actually faded this photo of the drawing to include on a Business piece. It is actually much darker, but hopefully you can see it ok anyway.

My first Blog.

Hi there,
I am new to blogging so bear with me. My name is Ness Lockyer and I am an Artist from the Tamar Valley in Tasmania, Australia. I love all things of beauty and style especially interiors. So with my two loves of Homes and Art, I am embarking on a Business venture in Beaconsfield here in Tasmania. I will try to give you an insight on the starting of our Business as well as bring you pictures of my work, both art and interior wise, and give you lots of inspirational pictures of things that I love that will make you want to go an re-arrange your Home. There will also be other stores and sites that I will put you on to so you can find beautiful pieces and inspiration for yourself.

Once I have the shop front and a website up and running I will try and link these into this blog so if you have any questions on my products you can contact me and I will get back to you with details. I will also display my art work so you can see what I do.

At this point in time (and for a long while before) I am loving anything French, signs, posters, pattern, containers…and the list goes on. I have recently made up some antique looking parisian Florist signs that I will photograph tomorrow and post them for you to see.

A Interior Designer that I love is Tricia Foley. I have watched her work for many years now and still think her way of design is so fresh, elegant without being fussy and also timeless. I will post some pics of her work next blog.

Hope you will drop in and find out what I have been up to and to get some ideas for your home.
Cheers. xx
